I watched PGL the musical last weekend.. err.. like 4 days ago lol.. best aa gak.. I don't know the malaysian standard for stageplays or musicalsthough.. so I can't really make any comparison. hmm actually aku pernah tgk satu musical.. well it was a broadway show in New York.. The Boy From Oz.. starring Hugh Jackman beb.. eventho my seat was like 3 rows from the back.. kat tepi lak tuh.. it was awesome! Hugh Jackman is usually so macho on screen, tapi in that broadway he was dancing and singing.. lembut gila badan dia lenggang lenggok tonggek sana sini pakai seluar ketat yg berkilat2 hahaha.. suara pun sedap.. costume cantik... props dia laaaaagi cantik! gempak lak tu..

ok enough about that I want to talk about PGL the musical yg sebenarnya. ok like I said, best gak aa.. entertaining.. I enjoyed the show.. BUT.. eheheh mestilah ada buts... ok.. first off.. ada 2 acts.. I thought Act 1 was too long... byk scene Tiara tgh jiwang karat.. lol.. and scene dia dan Hang Tuah bercinta... tapi.. scene diorang actually fell in love.. macam 1 saat je lol.. tiba2 dah angau2.. hahahaha.. okay takpe.. no big deal.. other ppl probably liked it.. I thought that Tiara sang very well.. but I read some critique wrote she sang just okay.. whatever.. tapi mamat Stephen Rahman tu nyanyi mmg sedap gila.. i didn't know he couldn't speak malay.. aku tertipu selama 2.5 hours.. cehhh... tapi patut laa besides his awesome singing.. masa dia dialog biasa2 cam takde perasaan je.. monotonous.. sbb tak paham melayu aaa ni.. camne nak berperasaan kalau tak paham kau tgh cakap apa lol.. lawak2.. besides the main actors/actresses... "org2 kebanyakan" semua tak nyanyi... diorang menari je.. ada chorus ensemble sebelah orchestra yg nyanyi.. ceh... i was disappointed about that..

my favorite was AC Mizal.. haahahahha.. aku tak pernah rasa dia hebat ke apa ke when watching him in movies or gerak khas or whatever... tapi masa PGL tu best gila lah dia.. aku rasa performance dia pawe siot.. nyanyi pun sedap.. menari pun ok.. actually dia menari tarian jawa cam masa amik kelas gamelan dulu je lol.. masa tepuk2 tangan dah habis show.. aku wooot wooot utk dia sorang je... elly wooot utk tiara.. alisa wooot utk stephen... hahaha aku rasa stephen tu too chubby to be hang tuah.. actually there was one particular "org kebanyakan" that stood out.. to me lah.. bila aku bosan tgk main actors.. aku cari mamat tu hahaha... ntah apsal aku perasaan dia.. sth about his hair i think..

ok on to other stuffs.. the props was okay.. actually the props for Act 1 (scenes in majapahit), was very interesting.. they used the same blocks to change from scene to scene by just moving them kot ni kot tu.. but... after 1 hour of using the same prop.. it just got too redundant and boring.. i was tired of it.. and the production cost is RM 1 million.. doesn't look like it to me.. and the actors tak tukar baju pun... sama je.. tapi utk Act 2 diorang tukar lah.. sbb dah kena dressing jadi org melayu kat melaka pulak.. tapi tu je lah.. BUT... act 2 punya props were all better!! omg the props for the istana melaka.. cantik gila.. aku mmg terpegun.. serious shit.. kalau la aku duduk seat depan.. aku tgk prop je kot.. tak tgk actor.. hahahaha.. there were more props for Act 2 as well.. by the end of the show, I was finally convinced that the production cost was RM 1 million..

the live orchestra was also veryyyy good.. the percussion was awesome.. hontoni sugoiii.. well since i was seating at the 3rd balcony... i couldn't see the orchestra playing.. so i just listened lah.. at times i didn't even pay attention to the acting because aku tgh dengar background music dengan detail.. i only got the chance to take a peek at the orchestra during intermission.. didn't see much.. it was pretty dark.. but there were lots of keyboards. like 4 or 5... there's a timpani and a drum set.. heh actually ni dengar pun aku dah tau.. lain2 instrument aku tak nampak.. i bet there were some traditional instruments as well.. sbb there were sounds that i was not familiar with.. BUT... the speaker was too damn loud! that spoiled it .. A LOT! lagu yg aku paling suka was lagu pasal kegemilangan melaka.. opening scene for Act 2.. hebat lah lagu tu.. satu lagi aku rasa tak cukup lagu sedih.. lagu2 in the minor scale.. some scenes yg sedih tak jadi sedih sangat because the music didn't make u feel sad.. soundtrack is important like this.. at least to me... but other than that.. lagu2 lain semua ok aaa... more like modern music anyway.. macam rock sikit2 pun ada...

satu menda slack.. mamat sultan muka horny tu.. ingatkan dia dalam movie PGL je.. alih2 tgk he's in the musical as well.. cehhhh.. i'm not impressed with his acting at all.. he's just okay.. nothing great.. there was one part where he sang and dance like someone dancing to a pop song.. aku gelak nak mampus.. it was damned funny.. it was also not the right thing to do.. come on lah he was the sultan of melaka, he should act more dignified.. not jumping around like some popstar singer.. that kind of ruined how i imagined a sultan should be in my head..

haih.. byk je nak kritik.. kalau aku jadi producer/director belum tentu aku boleh buat sebagus ni lol.. overall.. it was a good show. pi lah tgk.
