warning: HP6 spoiler ahead, though i bet everyone (hp fans that is) has read it by now
who would've thought that the half-blood prince was snape? to think that he is disgusted with hermione for being a mudblood when his own father is a muggle. i never thought that dumbledore would ever die. even if he did, i thought it would be a peaceful death. he is such a strong character that i find it impossible to accept that he will not be around anymore. but i guess it's more dramatic this way. it will make harry's quest to kill voldemort more adventurous and difficult. i actually read the part when snape did his avada kedavrus (sth like that) to dumbledore like 5 times just to be sure i was reading it right.
too bad that harry and ginny's relationship was shortlived. when harry snogged her after the quidditch match i shouted and jumped like crazy, i didn't expect that to happen haha. i hope that they get back together after harry obliterates voldemort once and for all in book 7. hbp is kinda slow.. the story progresses very leisurely, coupled with the fact that it is more anecdotal than action-packed. but i still love it! i hope that book 7 will answer why dumbledore trusted snape so much! oh man it kills me whenever he defended snape, i feel like punching him in the face.
one thing i thought rowling should have done was to develop harry's character into a stronger wizard, that is to say that he should have acquired more powerful spells and what not, not just minor jinxes that pratically everyone else could do. he cannot expect to kill voldemort with the level of his magic skills now does he? eventhough he has this power called 'love', i think it is kinda corny. haha. i know it's suppose to be sweet and deep and meaningful, but it's too easy.
but in all fairness, hbp is as good as the previous installments of hp, even better.. and rowling wrote such a great build-up story to get book 7 into full gear. now, having to wait for roughly 2 years for it to come out is like waiting for the time when i will have grandchildren..
