The Ministry of Education of Malaysia should have programming as one of its core subjects. Seriously. I think it's long overdue. Students majoring in EE and ME have physics and maths as their foundation.. CE students have chemistry.. Med students have bio... Accounting students have Accounts.. bla bla.. byk lagi.. but what about Computer Engineering and Computer Science students? Aside from the some trivial boolean algebra stuffs... and a little intro to penaakulan mantik.. we have nothing. Heck, I didn't even know that boolean algebra and computers are related to a very high degree.. we should at least know that right.. and programming. my first programming class was during sophomore. US students have done it since high school! maybe elementary.. i dunno.. but before college for sure. its no wonder that mat sallehs sangaaat lah terrer programming.. and aku merangkak2 belajar.. I understand that not everyone likes programming.. but still, we need some intro! it's easier to get stuffs into your head when u are younger.. they should train kids how to think like a programmer.. it doesn't have to be hard core. just the simple stuffs. i'm talking 'intro' .. very little.. that's all i'm asking lah.. nama pun sekarang 'zaman IT'.. hahahhahhh.. if ppl wanna complain that not everybody can do programming.. i wanna complain that i hate accounting!!! (LOL DY) .. i did not understand anything.. i did not like the subject.. yet i was forced to take the subject for SPM.. for 2 years i've been memorizing instead of understanding.. but it was good to learn because then i knew that i definitely won't consider accountancy as one of my career options.. i decided to do computer engineering and yet i did not have any background.. membabi buta saja amik course ni. fortunately, i like it (suka tak semestinya terrer), but what if i didn't? it was quite a gamble.. but of course i did not worry for a second when making the decision 4 years ago.. getting a scholarship to study in the US was good enough i was willing to do any major.. except accountancy.. lol. oh yeah, medic wasn't an option either, not because i did not like bio.. just felt too lazy to study for another 6 to 8 years..
